He graduated from Shanxi Agricultural College in 1953. He used to be a professor of animal nutrition, the former Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the vice chairman of Beijing Association of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.
