He studied at Private Ming Hsien School during 1921-1927 and joined the Communist Party of China in 1925. He joined the Red Army in 1929. He successively served as Deputy Director of State Political Security Bureau of Ministry of Public Security of P.R.C., Deputy Director of Chinese Revolution Museum, etc.
